Organizational Employment Services (OES) enhances work skills through paid work opportunities. Participants gain work experience and learn new job skills to become productive and successful workers. Depending upon the funding source, work is completed on-site or at a community crew site. Our staff teach and model appropriate work behaviors and skills such as attendance, punctuality, work tolerance, appropriate job attitudes, and work quality.
The program provides training activities in the following areas:
Participants perform a variety of work including janitorial, light assembly, and packaging. Work is performed on site at Functional Industries or at community locations. Individuals are paid on an hourly or piece rate basis. When desired, goals for competitive employment are developed with team involvement.
The majority of persons served by the OES program meet the eligibility criteria for county, state, or federal funding and program costs are paid by one or more of these entities. Private pay is also an option.
“Dear Functional: I love to work there. I really enjoy coming there and doing my part. I appreciate what you have done for me and others too. Thank you for giving me a chance to work.”
