Day Training and Habilitation

Functional Industries offers a number of Day Training and Habilitation (DT&H) programs that help participants learn new skills, gain greater independence, explore the community, and to develop friendships. Persons served have the ability to move through the DT&H programs based on need. Their individual goals focus on desires, strengths, abilities, and life span issues, making them unique and specific.

Wright Alternatives serves individuals who have minimal needs in the areas of personal cares, vocational skills, and behavior management. This program is for those who have the desire and ability to work as well as the desire to move into community employment. We teach the soft skills and social skills needed for job development. Jobs consist of light assembly and are paid by a piece rate. We also work toward community employment based on the person’s desires, strengths, and abilities.

Our Wright Connection I & II programs provide services to persons with some of the most difficult behavioral challenges. Their success centers on committed and consistent staff, creative and individualized behavioral support plans, and a belief that all people are capable of change. We provide intensive programming in areas such as behavior management, personal cares, vocational skills, and social skills. There are different opportunities within the Wright Connection I & II programs:

  • The senior area serves individuals who are partially or completely retired. Their retirement may be based on age, dementia, or a combination of both.
  • Our activity area serves those needing intensive supports due to autism spectrum disorders or sensory impairments. Participants receive approved physical therapy, occupational therapy, and sensory therapy exercises. We develop individual programs to include both work and other activities.
  • The production area is for individuals who have the desire and ability to work. Jobs consist of light assembly and are paid by a piece rate. We also provide opportunities for janitorial work paid at an hourly wage.
  • Opportunities to build meaningful relationships within the local community are available to all persons served.

Wright Connection III is unique in that it provides intensive medical supports. Our staff assist many individuals that have prescribed therapies. There are different opportunities within the Wright Connection III program:

  • The production area is for those who have the desire and ability to work. Jobs consist of light assembly or paper shredding and are paid by piece rate. We also provide opportunities for janitorial work paid at an hourly wage.
  • Opportunities to build meaningful relationships within the local community are available to all persons served.
  • The majority of individuals served by the DT&H programs meet the eligibility criteria for county, state, or federal funding and program costs are paid by one or more of these entities. Private pay is also an option.
