Unlimited Potentials provides residential services for adults in homes throughout the community. Our sites serve individuals of various needs, including those with significant medical, physical, or behavioral challenges. Because each individual we support is unique, we provide services that are tailored to each person. Examples of the goals we work on with each resident include:
The overall goal of services is to build independence for each person. Independence for some may mean living on their own someday, while for others, it may mean assisting staff with cooking meals. Whatever the level of independence an individual is trying to achieve, we are dedicated to helping them to become all that they can. Services are offered both in homes owned by Functional Industries or in homes owned or rented by the person served. The number of service hours provided is dependent on personal health and safety needs determined by the person’s interdisciplinary team.
We offer opportunities for community inclusion based on each person’s wants and needs. Community inclusion encourages and enhances relationship building with community members such as neighbors, local churches, and many others.
Our staff provide services but ultimately this is the home of those who reside there. This means that when a resident decides to move, those who remain have a choice about who their new roommate will be. We conduct a tour and then the potential roommate and current residents spend time together to get to know each other. The current residents each have an opportunity to determine if they would like to live with this new person. If all agree that services can be provided and the new person will work as a roommate, an intake meeting is held with the person’s interdisciplinary team.
Individuals served by Unlimited Potentials meet the criteria for county, state or federal funding and program costs are paid by one or more of these entities. Individuals also meet the criteria for Supplemental Security Income or Social Security Disability Insurance and room and board is paid through one of these sources.
