Chairman of the Board Retires

Where do I begin… how can I ever find just the right words to convey the mixed emotions that I’m feeling as I face the reality that after 35 years of dedicated service, Ruben is retiring as Chairman of Functional Industries’ Board of Directors.

In my career, I have had the occasion to work with all types of people: the good, the bad, and the ugly. During this time, I have been blessed with the opportunity of having worked with a few individuals that I have grown to respect, admire, and trust… Ruben Bonk is at the top of this very short list!

I have worked for, and with, individuals that provided me with excellent examples of how not to do things and how not to treat people. Ruben provided me an example of how to do things right, and how to do them with uncompromising integrity.

Ruben’s absence from the day-to-day operations of his beloved Functional Industries, Inc. will leave a void that in some ways will never be filled. He has done so much to enhance the lives of the people he mentored and the lives of the people he served… he will be missed!
